APT designs and builds Attribute/CMM holding fixtures for all automotive interior/exterior parts and assemblies. Some examples are:

• Instrument clusters and instrument panels

• Carpets, headliners and wheel liners
• Body panels
• Full frames, sub assemblies and components

APT builds simple go/no-go or presence check gauges & fixtures (aka Poka-Yoke) .

Poka-Yoke Fixtures:

• Often lock the part(s) in-place until the presence of all required features have been checked
• Unlock compliant part(s) after checking
• Lock non-compliant parts onto the fixture until reviewed & approved for release

APT developed a proprietary* system, utilizing a combination of lasers and cameras to verify proper orientation of joined coverstock to substrate – for soft-trim products.

APT system includes:

• Verification of pattern integrity for parts to be joined
• Incorporation of pins or blades for coverstock to substrate placement
• Seam detection (pass/fail zones)
• Data storage records for pedigree tracking

APT's gauges & fixtures employ Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods to monitor and control processes deemed critical by our customers. Our designs facilitate this type of measurement.

APT builds Vision System fixtures using the latest 2D and 3D technology when feature presence, color or size are critical. Fixtures can be built to assess a single feature or for analysis of high tolerance areas.

APT provides BIW fixtures to ensure proper specifications are met prior to painting.

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of the fixture
